The Ambitious For All Foundation welcomed renowned TV celebrity and historian Dan Snow for a captivating and entertaining evening hosted by Applemore College.

The special occasion drew an enthusiastic crowd of all generations, fostering a powerful sense of community whilst raising vital charitable funds.

The evening offered a rare, inspiring look into Dan’s childhood. He shared amusing memories of growing up visiting castles and historic ruins, assuming it was completely normal for every family. Through these reflections, he highlighted the true value of family time and the lifelong benefits of learning together.

A captivating storyteller, Dan delighted everyone, firstly with his tales of Southampton’s rich local history and then legendary Polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. Dan described Shackleton’s harrowing journeys of survival and his leadership in great detail keeping the entire room on the edge of their seats.

The night proved to be an overwhelming success, uniting grandparents, parents and children for an evening of shared education, humour and community pride.
