What a great evening! Lovely wine, delicious canapés and Sam Fraser to entertain and make us laugh - what more can anyone want! Thank you so much!
Laughter echoed through the air when Sam Fraser, former weather girl and BBC presenter, took to the stage. She was introduced by her equally talented son Theo, who warmed up the crowd with his witty observations of living with a celebrity for a mother. Sam enthralled and entertained us all with her hilarious anecdotes showcasing key moments in her career and amusing personal experiences on radio and television.
After the interval, Theo ‘interviewed’ his mother inviting her to describe how her career began and how it developed over the years. She concluded with many humorous examples highlighting the unexpected price of fame she experienced as a weather presenter on the television – some too risqué to mention here!
Sam’s career is an interesting and amusing story, and one that is an inspiration to young people venturing out in the world today. Her sense of fun and self-deprecating manner captivated us all. But most of all, it was her relaxed sense of humour that entertained and made us laugh – and that is an extraordinary talent indeed!
Special mention must be made of the amazing canapés served during the interval resulting in many of the audience asking where they came from and requesting the recipes! Our heartfelt thanks go to Jan Hoy MBE and Di Hobson for their exceptional hard work and culinary expertise which were instrumental in making this event such an incredible success.
The Trustees would like to thank everyone who came along on night for their generous donations helping us raise a record amount for our charity supporting disadvantaged children within the Applemore Community. Our sincere thanks to you all!
